Enjoying GoodFour?

Be the first to know when GoodFour is fully launched!

Find groups of four items that share something in common.

  • Select four items and tap the button to check your guess. A correct guess is a GoodFour!
  • Stuck? Use the button to mix the tiles. Made a mistake? Tap to clear your selection.
  • Each incorrect guess uses one of your four chances. Find all the groups to win!
What is GoodFour?

GoodFour is a daily word puzzle where the goal is to find four hidden groups of four words that share a common theme.

Is there only one puzzle per day?

Yes! GoodFour is designed as a special, bite-sized challenge for you to enjoy once a day. This ensures a fresh puzzle for everyone to solve together. However, you can dive into our growing archive anytime to play past games.

When does the puzzle reset?

A brand new puzzle board becomes available every day at midnight in your local time zone.

Why do the solved groups have different colors?

The four distinct colors are a key part of the game's design! Each color represents one of the puzzle's unique categories, helping to visually differentiate the groups and making it easier to see how the board was solved.

What is Hard Mode?

Hard Mode disables hints and helpful messages like "One bad" or "Already tried," so you're penalized for replaying a group you've already guessed and lose a chance.

What does the "One bad..." message mean?

This hint means three of your four selected tiles are correct. Just swap one tile to find the group!

When should I use the Shuffle button?

Use Shuffle when you're stuck. It rearranges the tiles to help you see possible new groups. There is no penalty for using it.

Are there multiple correct solutions?

No, each puzzle has only one unique solution. Some words are designed to be tricky, but only one configuration will solve the entire grid.

What happens if I run out of chances?

When you run out of chances, the game ends. The correct answers for all unsolved groups will be revealed on the screen.

How do the Hints work?

You start each day with 3 hint points. You can spend these points on different clues to help you solve the puzzle, from getting a category clue to finding a matching pair.

How do I get more Hint Points?

Hint points are a daily resource. You get a fresh set of 3 points every day when the puzzle resets at midnight. Points do not carry over, so use them if you need them!

Are Hints available in Hard Mode?

No. Activating Hard Mode provides a greater challenge by disabling the hint system entirely, along with other helpful messages like "One bad."
